12 Days of Geekmas?? (Cancelled)

Update 12/21/08 – Cancelled I really wish i had thought of this earlier, but I just came up with the idea on Friday. I think it’s just a little too quick to get the recordings done, and then do all of the editing. Big thanks to everyone who offered to pitch in, I really appreciate it. Feel free to let me know if I can help you out with anything. Also, huge thanks to Hal for actually recording his bit twice and getting it to me, I’m sorry to have wasted your time Hal.

Old Stuff below

The idea is to create a parody of the 12 days of Christmas song. Each participant records themselves singing one of the “days”. For example, “4 Gigs of Ram, 3 SATA hard Drives, 2 Xbox Controllers, and an iPhone that’s 3g”.

Want to be part of it? Come up with an idea and email me at mike AT port 16 DOT com, or volunteer here, or twitter me. Once the list is complete, then:

- Everyone Records their segment.

- Everyone sends that recording to me

- I chop it up and put it together.

- Everyone gets to distribute it, preferably with a link to all of the participants.

I’m planning on having everyone record “On the %day% of Geekmas my true love gave to me” for a different number day as well. For example, I may record “3 Sata Hard Drives” and also record “On the 8th day of Geekmas my true love gave to me”. This way, I can mix the voices up a little, so it's not my terrible voice for all of them. Hope that makes sense. Please email me any questions.
