Another X Files Movie?

I would think that the X Files, which had oh so many geeks addicted, would have caused a huge amount of buzz, at least on the Internet. Maybe it did, and the blogs I read just didn't mention it.

Now, I don't spend much time in the movie geek circles, even though I should, so maybe there was a whole lot of buzz about this and I just didn't hear about it. Heck, I barely watch 2 hours of TV a week anymore, so I would have missed the commercials as well.
It's still strange though that every week Art and I talk about movies on our podcast, and neither of us even mentioned this one. It just kind of snuck up out of nowhere.
Either way, I was kind of shocked to see that the new X-Files Movie, "I want to Believe" comes out this Friday, July 25th. Check out the IMDB page, or the official site. Checking out the official site, they don't say too much about the plot for this movie.
I saw the last X Files movie in theaters, and it was OK. It was what it was, a 2 hour X Files episode, without the language restrictions of broadcast television. I'll see the movie, but I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD.
I wouldn't have even remembered it comes out on July 25th, if it wasn't for this post on Geeks are Sexy. I'm especially appreciative that they pointed out this X Files Mythology for Dummies on io9. I'll have to brush up on what was going on in with the story before I see the new movie.

I have never been into the X-files personally, but ALOT of people I know like it. I'm not sure what the hype is, but maybe i'll watch it once just to see for myself. Even though it is way old by now.
I've known about this for a
I've known about this for a while. I see commercials for it on TV almost every day.
Like you, this is one I'll wait for the DVD. I'm not that excited to see it.
David Duchovny still looks the same, but Gillian Anderson got old.
Gillian is old!
Well, no matter how much vast knowledge you may have had of the movie, I hadn't even heard about it. I may not watch much TV, but I thought someone would have mentioned it.
BTW, if my friend Keith reads this, you might get some hate mail.
Well......... she is. Ok,
Well......... she is.
Ok, maybe she's not as old as I had thought at first. She'll be 40 in just a few days. I'm a little older than she is. But she's still looking a little rough around the edges if you ask me.
Gillian is still HOT!!!
Art,
I will strongly disagree with you on this one and might even suggest you get the prescription of the glasses check!
Just look at Gillian new Maxim pics.

(And yes Mike, I still slobber over the her pics.)
The thing is, it's not just her looks that make her sexy. It's the attitude and the brains she has.
As for the pic you posted, anyone can have a bad pic day. Look at ol Brittany!
Egad! Would rather have Gillian show up at the front door than that thing.
Think David is the one that looks old.
Praying that Gillian will make more movies in the future....(and maybe show up at my doorstep too!)
Oh crap. I'm in hot water
Oh crap. I'm in hot water now!
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
Not in hot water..
But you be comin into the warm stretch of the pool!
No worries. It's nice to know someone even knows who she is. I got a couple of guys at work who actually asked "Gillian Anderson, who's that?" They went into the big ol kettle of boiling water then!
Oh man...
I knew you'd comment on it. :-)
I think she looks great, I think it's the hair color change which makes her look different.
Really?
I hadn't looked at any photos, but I don't think she's looking old. That picture looks like they hadn't air-brushed her face. She looks like her face isn't as round as it used to be.
According to IMDB, she'll turn 40 next month.
