Scott Sigler Sigmas Schedule Helper

On one of the earlier episodes of our terrific podcast, Art and I were talking about a wonderful time that’s coming up, the 12 days of Sigmas. What’s the 12 days of Sigmas you ask?

Well, my favorite Podcast Novel author, Scott Sigler, is planning on releasing a brand new story, every day for 12 days, starting December 24th. (You can also see the episodes listed on the “FDO’s podcast Schedule for 2008”)

Here’s my problem. The schedule has a couple of episodes that continue something which I don’t remember listening to.

For example, Mt. Fitzroy Episode #2. I didn’t remember listening to the first one. Same goes for Kissyman! That means I’ve missed something that Scott Sigler has created! This is completely unacceptable!

I’ve also heard some questions about some other content there too.

So I did the research, and I present you with the fruits of my labor.

Mt. Fitzroy

On Dec 27th, Scott is doing episode 2. I didn’t remember hearing Episode 1 though. I found it on his bloodcast feed, and realized why, it was recorded while he was reading it at some convention, and at the time I figured he would record it again. Well, he didn’t. If you want to hear episode 1, here is the MP3 Download.

Kissyman

I hadn’t heard the first Kissyman at all. I was able to subscribe to the podcast though, and you can . I found the Siglerpedia entry for Kissyman, which includes a link for the MP3.

I really liked this story, it was very interesting, especially the fact that the main character has no idea why he laughs (you’ll understand when you listen to it). Scott said he was inspired after reading “Devil in  Blue Dress by Walter Mosley, I’ll have to check that one out.

The Pink Torpedo

The second episode is going to “air” on January 5th. What a strange name, huh? This was a story that Scott wrote for Mur Lafferty’s “Stories of the 3rd wave”, and let’s just say that I’m interested in hearing the sequel. Here’s the original for your listening pleasure.

The Crypt

I am very excited to listen to the Crypt. Anything, character stories, mini series, you name it. I just can’t wait to see why someone would choose jumping out of an airlock rather than serving on the P.U.V. James Keeling.

Of course, I’m wasn’t 100% sure that I had heard all of the character stories. There’s been some confusion because their titles have been a little weird. Like ASCII text or something. (12/17/08 Update: The FDO has given me the gift of knowledge, explaining the error of my ways. I have updated the list below according to his specifications.) So here they are:

Crypt #1 - ?1puvjk  - (Introduces 1 Character, #1)

Crypt #2 - error3 reconstruct :|::|: - (Introduces 2 Characters, #2 and #3)

Crypt #3 - :||::: dualism-desrtuct |::::| - (Introduces 1 Character, #4)

Crypt #4 - ||:||| restraint-ascension :||::: - (Introduces 2 Characters, #5 and #6)

Crypt #5 - 4th pylon (error) ||:|::: - (Introduces 1 Character, #7)

Crypt #6 - THE CRYPT: Recruit Yolanda Smith - (Introduces 1 Character, #8)

Yo! I see the cause of the confusion for THE CRYPT. The "story numbers" represent character numbers. #2 and #4 each have two characters, so they are #3 and #4, then #5 and #6. That makes #5 #7, and #8 #8. Make sense? No?

Ah Ha!

Thanks for that, it makes more sense now. I'm going to have to listen to the character stories again, and see who is introduced in each one.

Thanks for dropping by!
